Oh Carolina

On a dark and sandy beach after the sunset
With this bitter cold wind biting at my face
I hear my name being whispered in the distance
It seems to call me to another place

Sometime I curse this gypsie blood
That's running through my veins
It makes me want to wander
Whenever seasons change

But, oh, Carolina
Where do your open highways go?
But I have to leave you Carolina
To find the great unknown

On a rainy afternoon in late December
Me and Gunner dog we lit out on the road
We headed west with a case of Ramen noodles
And a little trailer this RV could tow.

We saw the Blue Ridge Mountains
And the hills of Tennessee
Even made a stop in Graceland
To visit with the King

But, oh, Carolina
Look where these open highways go
And I wonder Carolina
Do you even know I'm gone?

It was underneath the desert sky in Arizona
Thoughts of you come drifting through my mind
And I remember driving down your sandy beaches
And the sunsets off Cape Hatteras would wind

Me and Gunner are in Texas now,
We still got some things to do
I've seen the start of something different
And I've gotta see it through

But, oh, Carolina
You're with me everywhere I roam
Because I might have left you Carolina
But, girl I'm coming home
I'm coming home
And I'm coming home
